To begin, we thoroughly clean the area to be sanded and, as necessary, drive nails deeper into the boards.
Afterwards, the floor is sanded with a weighted rotary sander, which lasts longer than a belt sander since it removes less wood.
To remove scuffs and discolouration and give your floor a clean surface, we keep sanding it with progressively finer grades of sandpaper.
We then use a hand-held rotary sander to sand the edges, and then an orbital sander to give the surface a smooth, scratch-free finish.
To get your floor ready for coating, we apply a barrier seal on it. If necessary, a thin layer of the desired toner can be applied after this.
For a durable finish, the final step is to apply two coats of high-density, two-pack water-based polyurethane.

To prepare a room for floor sanding, remove furniture and cover fixtures with plastic sheeting. Remove trim or baseboards that are in the way and clean floors thoroughly. Wear protective gear like a dust mask, gloves, and eye protection during preparation. Hiring a professional for floor sanding is recommended.
Sanding a floor in a day is possible depending on the size and condition of the floor. If the floors are in good condition they may be sanded in a day. However, if the floor requires multiple passes or repairs, more time may be needed. Properly cleaning and preparing the floor also adds to the time needed.
Mopping the floor after sanding is recommended to remove accumulated dust and debris. Using a damp mop or cloth is important to avoid excess water that can damage the newly sanded floor. Waiting for the floor to dry completely is also important before applying any finishes or sealers.
The number of times a floor can be sanded depends on factors like thickness, condition, and wear and tear. Solid hardwood floors can be sanded multiple times while engineered wood floors can only be sanded a limited number of times. Consult a professional to determine the number of times a specific floor can be sanded.
Buffing or sanding your floors depends on the condition and desired outcome. Buffing restores shine to a floor in good condition, while sanding is used to remove deep scratches or stains. Buffing is less invasive than sanding but may not be effective for significant damage. Consult a professional to determine the best approach for your floors.
