The Healthy Mattress Service thoroughly cleans bacteria and dust mites and keeps them away for up to 6 months, ensuring a healthy and restful sleep. We will treat mild to moderate blood and urine contamination and neutralise uric salts to minimise odours and permanent stains.
Your technician will undertake a thorough pre-inspection of the mattress and discuss the treatment and likely results with you.
We vacuum your mattress using a high-powered industrial strength Kirby vacuum with a HEPA filter. Your technician will include all of the deep folds of the mattress’ surface and along the piping.
This step includes the application of our solvent-based cleaning product, which is highly effective at breaking down body oils and sweat.
Your technician will test for urine contamination in the mattress. If present, they will inject an enzyme-based product that will break down the urine's odour-causing uric salts. We then perform a hot water extraction process solely on the affected area.
Electrodry's Mattress Intensive Stain Treatment (MIST) is applied to the surface of the mattress, agitated and left to penetrate for 15 minutes. The stain treatment process will successfully lighten almost all mattress stains, with removal of over 90% of the stain usually possible.
Your mattress will be protected from dust mites and their toxic excrement following the application and agitation of our Anti Dust Mite Treatment.
Our drying equipment is used to ensure that your mattress is as dry as possible. At this time, your technician will answer any questions you may have about the clean or aftercare of your mattress.

***The New Mattress Cleaning Service is effective on areas of contamination up to the size of a dinner plate. If the contaminated area is greater than the size of a dinner plate, then the contamination may be too significant for effective decontamination and replacing the mattress may be the best course of action. Unfortunately, not all stains of this size can be removed because they will have penetrated too deep into the mattress fibres for our cleaning solution to be effective. For your health, we recommend replacing the mattress.

Professional cleaning solutions will break down the body oils and sweat embedded within your mattress fibres and successfully decontaminate urine-stained areas (provided the area of contamination is smaller than a dinner plate).
An Electrodry technician will also apply an anti-dust mite treatment to give you the peace of mind that your mattress is protected from these tiny pests and their potentially harmful excrement.

Once it has dried, sprinkle baking soda onto the mattress and leave it for 20 minutes before vacuuming. Baking soda will do a great job of treating odours.
You should not be using chemicals to clean your mattress unless you are trained to do so properly.
It is recommended that you wash your sheets weekly, especially so during warmer months. We also recommend drying them out in the sunshine – dust mites hate UV light so a bit of sunshine will do wonders.
