ELECTRODRY'S COMMITMENT TO QUALITYAs you may be able to guess from the name, dry cleaning uses significantly less water than steam cleaning (also known as hot water extraction). Steam cleaning has two components. First, a cleaning wand is used to inject hot, pressurised water into the carpet. Then it is sucked back out again, hopefully along with the dirt and stains. The success of this method relies a lot on what kind of pre-treatment the technician has done to break up stains. The main downside of steam cleaning is that it uses from 10 to 50 litres of water per room, and not all of it gets extracted back out of the carpet. This means your carpets stay wet for at least 4 to 6 hours, during which time they are more susceptible to getting dirty again.
With Electrodry’s dry cleaning method, much of the work gets done before the fancy dry clean machine even comes into play. We use dry cleaning solutions to break down the oils or sticky bits that bind dirt to the carpet. Once the grime is loose, it all comes out easily during our conditioning rinse.
