The main difference is that steam cleaning uses a lot of water! The steam cleaning method works by injecting 10 to 50 litres of heated water into the carpet, and then extracting the dirt and water with a powerful vacuum. This method leaves the carpet very wet, taking at least 4-6 hours to dry and sometimes much longer.
Dry cleaning uses very little water by contrast. This method works by treating stains with Electrodry’s exclusive dry cleaning solutions. These break down the oils binding dirt to the carpet fibres, effectively dissolving stains. The dirt and stains are then lifted during the conditioning rinse, which is applied using soft cotton pads. Our process leaves your carpet dry enough to walk on, and it should be completely dry within an hour.
