Our carpet cleaning system cleans more deeply and removes more stains than other methods.
We use Electro-Shield to sanitise your carpets, killing germs and bacteria for a healthier home.
Your floors will have a gentle lemon scent following the carpet clean.
Our dry cleaning process is designed to leave carpets dry enough to walk on straight after the job. That means no long periods of waiting for the carpet to dry!
Our cleaning solutions are solvent-based, which means you won’t get any left-over detergent residue.
The Electrodry dry cleaning system gets your carpets back to their original chemical balance, restoring and revitalising the carpet.
To look after your carpet you should vacuum it at least once a week, clean up spills as soon as possible to prevent stains, and get your carpet professionally cleaned once a year (or twice a year if you have pets). Having your carpet professionally cleaned can actually extend the life of your carpet, so it’s well worthwhile. Here’s our process.
We thoroughly vacuum the carpet to get rid of loose dirt. This also opens up the carpet fibres, allowing for a more effective cleaning process.
Next, we pre-treat the carpet with Electrodry’s cleaning solutions and stain removal products.
We use our unique dry cleaning machine to lift dirt and stains while using very little water.
We finish by using a carpet rake to reset the carpet pile and aid quick drying.
Electro-Shield™, Electrodry’s sanitising agent is now included in your next carpet or upholstery cleaning service at no extra cost.
Electro-Shield™ is a long-lasting and residually active agent that will actively eliminate most bacteria and other nasties for up to 4 months and up to 2 months in high traffic areas and commercial premises.
Its active ingredient will bond to your carpet fibres and be active for up to 4 months unlike most sanitising agents, which lose efficacy in the seconds or minutes following application.

You may have had your carpet steam cleaned in the past and now you’re wondering what the difference is between dry cleaning and steam cleaning? The main difference is the amount of water each process uses. As you may be able to guess from the names, steam cleaning involves heated water while dry cleaning is quite dry. Steam cleaning works by injecting 10 to 50 litres of heated, pressurised water into each room of carpet, and then extracting it back out again, along with the dirt. While this method can be very effective if appropriate pre-treatments are used, steam cleaning leaves litres of water in the carpet. Drying times average 4-6 hours, but in less than ideal conditions drying could take a day or more.
Carpet dry cleaning is different. Instead of using litres of water, our method relies on our unique dry-clean solutions to break down stains and dirt in the pre-conditioning stage. This means that when we bring out our dry clean machine and apply the conditioning rinse, stains are already loosened and are removed with ease. This means we can use minimal water, get excellent results, and leave your carpet dry enough to walk on by the time we leave!
Our four-step dry cleaning process means we get the best results for your carpet, every time. Using dry cleaning solutions, we break down the oils and grease that bind dirt to the carpet fibres. When the oil is dissolved, the stain is able to break up. Oil in spills is also the reason why sometimes you clean a stain, only to have it return in a day or two. If the oil isn’t removed it will attract dirt and grime, and the stain will just reappear.
That’s why it’s so important to get the oil out completely. As well as our general dry cleaning solutions, we have stain removal products for all different kinds of stains. We have specially formulated stain removers for everything that makes a difficult stain: wine, beer, blood, vomit, pet urine, etc. Our technicians are trained to international standard and have all the right tools for the job.
Gunnedah has several claims to fame. There’s the notable Aussie figures, from Tom Gleeson to Miranda Kerr; Gunnedah’s valuable role as a significant producer of cotton, coal, lamb, beef and pork; and there’s Gunnedah’s title as the Koala Capital of the World (a title also claimed by Port Stephens). In the Kamilaroi language, ‘Gunnedah’ means “place of white stones”. Gunnedah has a rich heritage, being settled in 1883, with hundreds of years of history of the indigenous people before, the locals of whom called themselves the ‘Gunn-e-darr’, hence the name. Electrodry hasn’t been in Gunnedah quite as long as the Gunn-e-darr, but we’ve been here a while. Electrodry started in Newcastle in the 1980s, when Paul Burchell changed carpet cleaning for good, with the introduction of carpet dry cleaning. We’ve been servicing Gunnedah locals for decades now, and we’re pretty good at it.
