Carpet in your home offers a soft and comfortable floor to walk, lay or sit on. But did you know that it can also help allergy sufferers? Allergens get trapped in the carpet fibres and don’t get released into the air where they can be inhaled. Regular vacuuming is important though, and a professional clean will ensure that the job has been completed effectively by a trained technician to remove these allergens completely.
We vacuum the carpet to get rid of dirt, but also to open the carpet fibres, allowing our cleaning solutions to work to full capacity.
We inspect the carpet for stains, and treat them using our special dry cleaning solutions. We have cleaning solutions for all kinds of stains, allowing us to effectively treat all kinds of stains without large amounts of water.
We dry clean the carpets, using cotton pads soaked in our conditioning rinse. This process uses only 2 litres of liquid, compared with the 10-50 litres used by steam cleaning.
We finish by grooming the carpet for a smooth finish. Your carpet should be dry enough to walk on right away, and totally dry within an hour.
Steam cleaning, more accurately called hot water extraction cleaning, works by injecting large amounts of hot water into the carpet, and then extracting it with a powerful vacuum. If stains have been treated appropriately, the dirt and stains should be extracted along with the water. This method leaves a lot of water in the carpet, and carpet will take at least 4-6 hours to dry. This drying time is one of the main advantages of Electrodry’s dry cleaning system. Our system works by targeting stains with our dry cleaning solutions, breaking them down for easy removal. This means that we lift stains and sanitise carpet using just 2 litres of water per room. This means that carpet is dry enough to walk on by the time we finish the clean, and totally dry within an hour.
Did you know that dirty carpet is a breeding ground for bacteria? Especially in damp weather, carpet is a great place for mould and bacteria to grow. Bacteria also traps airborne contaminants. This can actually be helpful, as carpet can work as a kind of air filter, making your air cleaner! But this has its flipside, especially if anyone in your house spends time sitting or lying on the carpet. You should always get your carpet professionally cleaned once a year, or more if you have a spill, creating stains. Alternately, if you have pets that spend time on the carpet, you should aim to have your carpet cleaned twice a year to remove pet dander.
In 1848, the first Post Office opened in Colac, the same year Colac (then called Lake Colac) was officially named a town. Shortly after, Electrodry Colac started cleaning carpets.
