An industrial-strength vacuum cleaner is used to remove dry soil and debris prior to the cleaning process.
We begin every carpet clean with a thorough vacuum. This removes loose dirt, opens up the carpet fibres, and prevents dirt from turning to mud in subsequent steps.
Next, stains are treated with an appropriate stain removal products, and dry cleaning solutions. These allow oily stains to be easily lifted.
The carpet is dry cleaned using Electrodry’s unique system.
The carpet is brushed to reset the carpet pile and aid the drying process.
The main difference between Electrodry’s dry cleaning method and conventional steam cleaning is the quantity of water used. The steam cleaning, or hot water extraction method involves spraying the carpet with a cleaner, and then injecting a large amount of hot, pressurised water into the carpet. The water is then extracted out. This method uses 10 to 50 litres of water per room, and leaves the carpets with a 4-6 hour dry time.
Electrodry changed the game with carpet dry cleaning. Introduced by Paul Burchell in 1983, carpet dry cleaning quickly took off, and is now known as the most reliable carpet cleaning method on the market. Electrodry’s system uses dry cleaning solutions to break down dirt and grease, and then removes stains during a conditioning rinse. The whole process uses very little water – a plus for drought-affected regions, and is effective at removing stains.
Our dry cleaning method assures us the best results, every time. That’s why we have a 14 day satisfaction guarantee on our carpet cleaning.
Walking on soiled carpet shortens the life of your carpets and rugs. This is because treading dry dirt and grit weakens and dulls the carpet fibres, making your carpet look older and feel harder. Dirty carpet is also a breeding ground for germs and bacteria, or even mould growth. If you frequently vacuum your carpet this may help, but it is still necessary to have your carpets professionally cleaned once a year.
Why should you choose Electrodry? Because our cleaning system gives better results than other carpet cleaners, but without all the chemical residue and wet carpet smell. We remove stains with excellent results, and you won’t have to wait hours to walk on your carpets.
The Barossa Valley is famous for its wineries and the production of some of the best red wine in Australia. However, when this red wine finds its way onto your carpet, not only is it a waste of a good drop, but it can also be difficult to remove. Red wine quickly penetrates into the carpet fibres and even if you act quickly to clean up the spill, it can still leave a stain. If a red wine stain sits for too long, it can be very difficult to remove once it seeps into the carpet fibres and the backing of your carpet.
The professional carpet cleaners at Electrodry normally use spot-cleaning methods on red wine stains to make them easier to remove during the dry cleaning process. Although we're confident in our ability to remove red wine stains, there are some instances where we cannot guarantee stain removal. Things such as the type and age of the carpet will affect how easy it will be to clean the carpet and whether the red wine stain can be successfully removed.
You can find out what others think of the service delivered by a carpet cleaning company through references and reviews. One way to do this would be searching on Google for any mentions or reviews about that particular company, services offered by them, or anything else you want information on. You can also check out social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook where people share their opinions with friends via status updates.
While both the steam cleaning and dry-cleaning processes have their benefits, one of the main considerations to think about is how long will it take for your carpets to dry. When it comes to dry cleaning, as minimal water is used, it only takes 1–2 hours to dry. The main benefit of this is that in most cases, your carpet is walk-on dry virtually straight away.
With steam cleaning, there is a much longer drying time due to the amount of water used in the process. Furthermore, steam cleaning isn’t quite as effective as dry cleaning when it comes to stain removal. Another consideration is depending on how dirty your carpets are in general, the extra moisture used in the steam cleaning process can actually cause shrinkage to your carpets as it can take several hours to fully dry.
Keep the following tips in mind to keep your carpets spotless and stain-free between professional cleaning visits:
Wait Until Fully Dry - Electodry will leave your carpets walk-on dry straight away but will be fully dry in as little as 1-2 hours. The longer you wait the better.
Remove Shoes - Remove your shoes before you walk on your carpet to keep the carpet fibres looking clean and fresh.
Don’t Go Barefoot - It’s a good idea to wear socks or slippers as the natural oils from bare feet can leave an oily residue that has the potential of attracting dirt.
Remove Spills & Stains Immediately - Cleaning up spills and stains should be a top priority. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will become to remove them.
Blot Instead of Rubbing - Use paper towels to blot spills and if a stain forms, try dishwashing detergent to remove the stain instead of harsh chemicals.
Vacuum the Carpet - If you vacuum on a regular basis, your carpets will stay clean and free of allergens. Don’t wait until they are filthy before vacuuming them.
In order to expedite the drying process of your carpet, there are a couple of things you could do:
Open your doors and windows - this will encourage ventilation and speed up the drying time of your carpet
Move your furniture – consider moving sofas, chairs, and other furniture away from the room when drying your carpet to allow for better air circulation.
Use standing fans – using standing fans helps to speed up air circulation, especially if you set it up near an open door.
Use a dehumidifier – if you live in a relatively humid area, use a dehumidifier to keep moisture levels down to a minimum and to help the carpet dry faster.
