***The New Mattress Cleaning Service is effective on areas of contamination up to the size of a dinner plate. If the contaminated area is greater than the size of a dinner plate, then the contamination may be too significant for effective decontamination and replacing the mattress may be the best course of action. Unfortunately, not all stains of this size can be removed because they will have penetrated too deep into the mattress fibres for our cleaning solution to be effective. For your health, we recommend replacing the mattress.

Mattress odours caused by human urine can be removed with white vinegar, baking soda, or hydrogen peroxide. However, if the stain is old or fairly substantial in size, its best to seek professional assistance.
There is no way to get rid of urine stains from a mattress by using Vanish. It is unlikely to get rid of the smell entirely and may even degrade the fabric. To eliminate the stain and odour, enzymatic cleansers or a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide should be used.
Instead of using vinegar and baking soda, an enzymatic cleaner can be used to remove urine from a mattress by breaking down the proteins in the urine and neutralising the scent. Hydrogen peroxide and dish soap solution, followed by baking soda and vacuuming, is another alternative.
To clean a mattress and make it white again, use a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, and allow it to sit for several hours. Then vacuum off the baking soda mixture and let the mattress dry completely.
