***The New Mattress Cleaning Service is effective on areas of contamination up to the size of a dinner plate. If the contaminated area is greater than the size of a dinner plate, then the contamination may be too significant for effective decontamination and replacing the mattress may be the best course of action. Unfortunately, not all stains of this size can be removed because they will have penetrated too deep into the mattress fibres for our cleaning solution to be effective. For your health, we recommend replacing the mattress.
****For the safety of our technicians, we are obliged to clean only one side of a King or Super King mattress, in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
There is no way to get rid of urine stains from a mattress by using Vanish. It is unlikely to get rid of the smell entirely and may even degrade the fabric. To eliminate the stain and odour, enzymatic cleansers or a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide should be used.
Baking soda can help absorb and neutralise urine odours from a mattress, but it may not completely remove the smell if the urine has deeply penetrated the mattress.
A yellowed mattress can be deep cleaned using the following method:
To clean a mattress and make it white again, use a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, and allow it to sit for several hours. Then vacuum off the baking soda mixture and let the mattress dry completely.
For deep cleaning, keep baking soda on the mattress for at least 24 hours. For regular cleaning and deodorising, 30 minutes to an hour is sufficient.
